Lipodystrophy is a rare disorder characterised by loss of adipose tissue, severe insulin resistance, diabetes, hypertriglyceridemia, hepatic steatosis with hypoleptinemia. Renal complications are also present but end stage renal disease is less frequent in partial lipodystrophy.
